You can salt the water if you want to - I always salt pasta water generously - it really makes the pasta taste great. I don't recommend adding olive oil, however, as the oil makes the pasta slick and your sauce will just slide right off it. What I like to do is undercook the pasta a bit, drain most of the water, add my sauce to the pasta, then put it back in the microwave to finish cooking. The starchy pasta water helps the sauce stick to the pasta. I do this even when cooking pasta on the stove-top.

That looks cool. I want one.

I did not. No where in the directs does it say to add salt. Hmmm... (I did add a little olive oil to the water though.)

Neat idea...do you salt the water?
